i think that the issue Kevin had was that we were presenting a Mobile Learning conference/workshop and a trext wall HAD been set up and all sorts of other good stuff. But the standard issue welcome had suggested that delegates should turn their mobile phones off.
We laughed at the time but it does show a little of the left v right hand theories of mushroom propogation.
Like the time that the principal of a £500,000 MoLeNET project told the newly taken-over (sorry - merged) college staff (and I paraphrase and no offence is intended) "there will be no mobile phones allowed in THIS college"
And I don't think that example is unique - there are many examples of one part of college investing in a technology only to find another part then bans it!

Add an SMS text wall so that delegates "have" to use their phones.
